I got my PhD in Sciences in 1996 from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. I did my postdoc at Massachusetss Institute of Technology. In addition, I did several stays at different institutions. Currently, I’m associate professor at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. I’ve been always involved in a wide range of research projects founded by governamental institutions and private companies. For some of them I’ve been the principal investigator. I’ve organized several workshops and minisymposium in international conferences. I’ve been the chairman of the 22nd International Meshing Roundtable held in Orlando in 2013. I got the “meshing maestro” award at the 21st IMR and the “best technical poster“ award at the 22nd IMR. We have developed new algorithms for generating structured and unstructured quadrilateral and hexahedral meshes. Most recentely, we are developing new algorithms to generate curved high-order meshes. In addition, we are also working on other challenging problems such as subsea noise propagation and multiphase flow in porous medium.
