Mallika Roy
Biosketch
I was born in Kolkata, India in November, 1990. I completed my B. Sc. in Mathematics from University of Calcutta in 2012. I did my Masters in Pure Mathematics from University of Calcutta in 2014. My master's’ thesis was on ‘Application of Group Action on Finite Sets’.
In 2015-2016, I worked on ‘Constructing Sub-groups of Free groups with Topological Ideas’ with Prof Swarnendu Dutta in the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, India. In February 2017, I moved to Barcelona as Maria de Maeztu fellow, to start my PhD studies with Prof. Enric Ventura in UPC.
My research focuses on the rank problems of Free-abelian times Free groups.
