BGSMath was awarded in June 2015 the label “María de Maeztu” by the Spanish Government. This four year award  is open to spanish research institutions in all areas of science or humanities,  and it carries a grant of 2 million EUR for the period 2015-2019. Most of the budget will be allocated to international doctoral and postdoctoral positionsin the Barcelona area through yearly calls.

The María de Maeztu labels are given by the Spanish Ministerio de Economía y Competividad, as part of their “Programa de Excelencia”. The actual ceremony took place in Madrid on July 19th, 2015.
