BGSMath screening deadline

1 June 2018

The Barcelona Graduate School of Mathematics (BGSMath) is keen on hosting Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellows and is currently inviting applications to the scheme, in any of our research topics. The next call for applications has opened on 12 April 2018 and closes on 12 September 2018. Successful applicants will be able to start their fellowships from March 2019 to March 2020.

MSCA fellowships are highly flexible, pay a generous salary, and are open both to external applicants who have not spent more than 12 months in Spain in the previous 3 years (Standard; for external candidates) and to existing Faculty staff who are interested in conducting research in a third country, outside EC (Global) for one year and join BGSMath for another two years.

Any external interested candidate should be a PhD with research experience related to one of the BGSMath research areas, and be interested in joining one of the BGSMath groups. They are also welcome to participate in BGSMath graduate courses and intensive research programmes, get involved in student supervision and outreach activities and to receive complementary training in aspects such as communication and fundraising, in order to boost their academic career.

Interested candidates will be supported by the BGSMath Research Manager to write their research proposal, along with their future supervisor. Applicants should send an expression of interest to research@bgsmath.cat containing the following documents by 1 June 2018:

  • Short CV with max 4 relevant publications
  • Summary of the research proposal to be developed (max. 2 A4-pages)
  • Motivation letter (1 A4-page) with your preferred choice of hosting group/supervisor at BGSMath. We strongly recommend that you previously contact the preferred supervisor and that you detail this in the letter.

Candidates will be informed of the results of a preliminary screening before 16 June 2018.
